It's PARCC Testing Season (April 3-19, 2017)

posted Mar 28, 2017, 1:18 PM by Theodore Johnson

It's that time of year again!  Starting next week, students in grades 3-6 will begin doing their annual PARCC assessment testing.  These are state required tests that students participate in each year.  Students are evaluated based on their knowledge and skills in the areas of Literacy and Mathematics (5th grade students will also take a Science Assessment). Both the Literacy and Mathematics assessments are divided into several units.  Students will test between 60-90 minutes daily during the next couple of weeks.
The PARCC assessments provide an opportunity for our students to "shine" and to demonstrate all that they have learned during the year. Much like an athlete preparing for the big game, it's important that they get plenty of rest and they come to school with a "winning attitude."  You can support this by ensuring that they get to bed on time and reminding them to do their best each and every day.  We would also request that you avoid scheduling appointments and other interruptions to their day during this window of time.  Thanks in advance for your support.
